
Wayanad
stands as one of the loveliest
hill stations in Kerala.The name, Wayanad, is derived from the
Word 'Vayalnadu', which means the 'land of paddy fields'. This
green paradise, located at a distance of about 76 km. from the
seashores of Kozhikode, lies at a height of 700 to 2100 m. above
sea level, on the northeastern part of the state. , The district
is credited with 78787-hector reserve forest, the largest forest
tract in Kerala. Six districts of Kerala, Tamilnadu and
Karnataka in fact cordon off Wayanad.

spice plantations, luxuriant forests and rich cultural
